Student Tracking System Provides Parental Assurance |
Using a combination
of proximity cord technology,Short Messaging System[SMS] platform
and a highly sophisticated Integrated Management System,Smartkey
has developed a sophisticated system that can assist parents
in monitoring their children arriving and departing from school
through SMS or Voicemail sent to their mobile phones.Parents
are able to register for this service through internet,SMS
or other means,and they only need to pay a minimum monthly
fee.
The system requires
that on active tag to be carried or worn by each student.When
the student arrives at the main school gate and walks through
the external aerial loop planted underground,the long Range
RFID Reader will send a signal to read the tag.It will send
the tag ID to the controller,SK100LB which will then send
the tag record to the connecting PC for online monitoring.Finally,the
PC will send messages which are stored in the PC to the mobile
phones of the child’s parents.
This system is configured
in a way to provide directional sensing which allow the system
to report whether the student is in or outside the school.There
is an antenna with two receivers at each entrance ,one on
the outside and the other,inside the school near the school
main gate.These two receivers are used to create two directional
fields.
The reading range
of the reader is determined by the size of the reader aerial
and by the size and power used in the tag.For example,using
the CRIA-MUX reader,the reading range can be increased from
four metres to 25 metres using up to 16 external antennas.The
RF communications between each tag and reader in scrambled
for security and to eliminate the chance of simulated tokens
being used.
Capable of reading
up to 60 tags per second,the long range RFID reader will be
able to pick up the tags carried by the student and identify
him or her correctly.This hands free system is also created
to enhance convenience when monitoring individual movement
around the premises.
The system has been
successfully implemented in schools situated in Beijing,Shanghai,Henan
Province and Jiangsu Province,China.
